Basava Principle

Basava’s beliefs are widely practiced by Sri Siddalingeshwara in the form of regular classes. The Swamy isn’t just providing a healthier body to his patients and visitors, he is also enlightening their minds towards the right mind frame.

Basava’s story hails back in the 12th century. He was a Hindu philosopher and an exquisite poetry writer. He was the reason for the creation of Sharana Sankula, a class conducted by him to educate the crowd of that time about gender and racial equality, work culture, democratic and human rights. Basava is a firm believer of Shiva and was the sole reason for showcasing Lord Shiva to the crowd of that era.

Basava had a strong ideology that from one source, all the matters were originated. To prove this theory of his, he combined the concepts of Ishtalinga, Kayaka, Prasada, and Dasoha. Since he was a firm believer of Shiva, he continued to preach about him every day. He even supported Ishtalinga which is a pendant carrying a small Shiva linga as a way to enhance his continuous faith.

Being the founder of Lingayats, he provided all the necessary elements which would help his society to grow in the mindset. Being a poetry writer himself, he used his skill to preach the right words to the generation there. After his death, many elaborations of his poetry and translations have been conducted.

Following the same pathway, Sri Siddalingeshwara aims to preach this essential knowledge to the present era. The Swamy has started to conduct classes at ChitraDurga region between 7 am to 8 pm. Holding 31 syllabuses, the only way to enter the classes are with reservations.
