Alcoholic Hepatitis
Alcoholic hepatitis is hepatitis (inflammation of theliver) due to excessive intake of alcohol. It is usually found in association with fatty liver, an early stage ofalcoholic liver disease, and may contribute to the progression of fibrosis, leading to cirrhosis.
SYMPTOMS
Pain areas: in the abdomen, gastro intestinal: bloating, fluid in the abdomen, nausea, or vomiting, also common: loss of appetite, weight loss, or yellow skin and eyes.
CAUSES
High blood pressure in the liver, enlarged veins (varices), ascites, jaundice, confusion, drowsiness and slurred speech (hepatic encephalopathy), cirrhosis, kidney failure.
