Absence or cessation of menstruation. Amenorrhea is Conventionally divided into primary and secondary amenorrhea. Primary amenorrhea -- menstruation never takes place. It fails to occur at puberty. Secondary amenorrhea -- menstruation starts but then stops.

SYMPTOMS

Milky nipple discharge. Hair loss, headache, vision changes, excess facial hair, pelvic pain, acne.

CAUSES

Polycystic ovary syndrome (pcos). Pcos causes relatively high and sustained levels of hormones, rather than the fluctuating levels seen in the normal menstrual cycle. Thyroid malfunction, pituitary tumor, premature menopause.
