Bacterial Vaginosis During Pregnancy
Bacterial vaginosis (bv) is a disease of the vagina caused by excessive growth of bacteria. Common symptoms include increased vaginal discharge that often smells like fish. The discharge is usually white or gray in color. Burning with urination may occur.
SYMPTOMS
Groin: abnormal vaginal discharge, vaginal itching, or vaginal odouralso common: vaginal burning
CAUSES
A sign of bacterial vaginosis can be a "fishy" smell, which may be worse after sex. About half of women who have bacterial vaginosis do not notice any symptoms. Many things can cause abnormal vaginal discharge, including some sexually transmitted infections (stis).
