Biventricular Pacemaker
Cardiac resynchronization therapy (crt), also called biventricular pacing, uses a special kind of pacemaker, called a biventricular pacemaker, designed to treat the delay in heart ventricle contractions. It keeps the right and left ventricles pumping together by sending small electrical impulses through the leads.
SYMPTOMS
We report the effects of biventricular pacing in a 63 year old man with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (hcm) associated with significant symptoms of dyspnoea, chest pain, and palpitations. Previous cardiac catheterisation (november 1998) had shown normal coronary anatomy with a subaortic gradient of 77 mm hg.
CAUSES
Atrial fibrillation vs. Ventricular fibrillation. Cardiomyopathy (dilated), heart attack., Heart failure. ..., Implantable cardiac defibrillator., Pacemaker.
