Diseases
Bowel Disease
The most common types of inflammatory bowel disease (ibd) are ulcerative colitis and crohn disease. Crohn disease favors the ileum (the lower part of the small intestine) but can occur anywhere along the intestinal tract while, by contrast, ulcerative colitis affects the colon (the large intestine) alone.
SYMPTOMS
Abdominal pain, bloating and diarrhoea are the most common symptoms.
CAUSES
Instead, it is a result of the immune system attacking a harmless virus, bacteria, or food in the gut, causing inflammation that leads to bowel injury. Two major types of ibd are ulcerative colitis and crohn's disease. Ulcerative colitis is limited to the colon or large intestine.
