Fast Heart Beat
The number of heartbeats per unit of time, usually per minute. The heart rate is based on the number of contractions of the ventricles (the lower chambers of the heart). The heart rate may be too fast(tachycardia) or too slow (bradycardia).
SYMPTOMS
- Fainting (syncope)
- Lightheadedness or dizziness.
- Rapid heartbeat or "palpitations" or fluttering feeling in chest or bounding pulse.
- Angina (chest pain), pressure or tightness.
- Shortness of breath.
- Fatigue/tiredness.
CAUSES
- Shortness of breath.
- Lightheadedness.
- Rapid pulse rate.
- Heart palpitations — a racing, uncomfortable or irregular heartbeat or a sensation of "flopping" in the chest.
- Chest pain.
- Fainting (syncope)
