Fluid On The Brain
A colorless liquid that is comparable to serum, is secreted from the blood into the lateral ventricles of the brain, and serves chiefly to maintain uniform pressure within the brain and spinal cord.
SYMPTOMS
- Bulging fontanel, which is the soft spot on the surface of the skull.
- A rapid increase in head circumference.
- Eyes that are fixed downward.
- Seizures.
- Extreme fussiness.
- Vomiting.
- Excessive sleepiness.
- Poor feeding.
CAUSES
It occurs when too much fluidbuilds up in the brain; specifically, excess csf (cerebrospinal fluid) accumulates in the cavities (ventricles) of the brain
