Granulomatus Enteritis
Crohn's disease (cd), also known as granulomatous colitis or regional enteritis, is a chronic, nonspecific inflammatory disease of the bowel that occurs most commonly in the terminal ileum, jejunum, and the colon, although it may affect any part of the gastrointestinal (gi) system from the mouth to the anus.
SYMPTOMS
Crohn's disease can cause abdominal pain, diarrhoea, weight loss, anaemia and fatigue. Some people may be symptom-free most of their lives, while others can have severe chronic symptoms that never go away.
CAUSES
Crohn's disease can be a chronic, recurrent condition or can cause minimal symptoms with or even without medical treatment. In mild forms, crohn's disease causes small scattered shallow crater-like areas (erosions) called aphthous ulcers in the inner surface of the bowel.
