Guillian Barre Syndrome
A disorder characterized by progressive symmetrical paralysis and loss of reflexes, usually beginning in the legs. The paralysis characteristically involves more than one limb (most commonly the legs), is progressive, and is usually proceeds from the end of an extremity toward the torso.
SYMPTOMS
- Pain areas: in the muscles
- Muscular: muscle weakness, abnormality walking, problems with coordination, or weakness of the arms and legs
- Whole body: fatigue or high blood pressure
- Heart: abnormal heart rhythm or fast heart rate
CAUSES
Guillain-barré syndrome is a rare but serious autoimmune disorder in which the immune system attacks healthy nerve cells in your peripheral nervous system. This leads to weakness, numbness, and tingling. It can eventually cause paralysis.
