Hepatitis A

Inflammation of the liver caused by thehepatitis a virus (hav). Hav is usually transmitted from person to person by food or drink that has been contaminated with the stool of a person with hepatitis a. This type of transmission is called "fecal-oral."

SYMPTOMS

Pain areas: in the abdomen, joints, or muscles, gastrointestinal: diarrhoea, nausea, or vomiting, whole body: fatigue, fever, or loss of appetite, also common: dark urine, itching, weight loss, or yellow skin and eyes

CAUSES

Hepatitis a is caused by infection with the hepatitis a virus. You get the virus when you unknowingly eat a small amount of infected feces. This can happen through person-to-person contact, or through eating or drinking contaminated food or water.
