Hepatitis B Virus During Pregnancy

A form of hepatitis caused by a dna virus(hepatitis b virus, or hbv) that persists in the blood, characterized by a long incubation period: usually transmitted by sexual contact or by injection or ingestion of infected blood or other bodily fluids.

SYMPTOMS

  • Whole body: fatigue or malaise
  • Skin: web of swollen blood vessels in the skin or yellow skin and eyes
  • Also common: fluid in the abdomen

CAUSES

Hepatitis b infection is caused by the hepatitis b virus (hbv). The virus is passed from person to person through blood, semen or other body fluids. It does not spread by sneezing or coughing.
