Hidradenitis Suppurativa
An illness characterized by multiple abscesses of the skin that form in and around oil and sweat glands and hair follicles, most commonly under the armpits and in the groin area.
SYMPTOMS
- Skin: lumps, rashes, rashes that look like acne, small bump, or ulcers
- Also common: abscess, body odour, excess sweating, itching, pimple or blackhead, pus, or swelling
CAUSES
Hidradenitis suppurativa (hs) causes you to get painful bumps under your skin in the hair roots near some of your sweat glands. There's no cure, but treatments and lifestyle changes can bring some relief and cut down on flare-ups. Most experts think they're caused by blockages in the hair roots.
