Hot Tub Folliculitis

Hot tub folliculitis (also known as Pseudomonas aeruginosa folliculitis) is a common type offolliculitis, a condition which causes inflammation of hair follicles. This condition is caused by an infection of hair follicles due to the bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

SYMPTOMS

Located around hair follicles, these bumps tend to be itchy or tender. Hot tub rash typically arises within 1–4 days of exposure to the contaminated source. In addition to the rash, symptoms can include mild fever, headache, sore throat, and fatigue.
