Inflammation Of The Prostate Gland (Chronic Bacterial Prostatitis)
Chronic bacterial prostatitis is a rare condition that causes recurring infections in the prostate and results in swelling, inflammation, and frequent urinary tract infections (utis). The prostate is a small gland located directly below the bladder in men.
SYMPTOMS
- Blood in the urine or semen.
- Pain or burning with urination.
- Pain with ejaculation.
- Pain with bowel movements.
- Pain in the lower back, between the genitals and anus, above the pubic bone, and in the testicles.
- Foul-smelling urine.
CAUSES
When you ejaculate, your prostate gland squeezes this fluid into your urethra. It makes up a large portion of your semen. Acute prostatitis is usually caused by the same bacteria that cause urinary tract infections(utis) or sexually transmitted diseases (stds). Bacteria can travel to your prostate from your blood
