Lumbar Hernia
A hernia between the last rib and the iliac crest where the aponeurosis of the transversus muscle is covered only by the latissimus dorsi.
SYMPTOMS
Dull or sharp pain, muscle spasm orcramping, sciatica, and leg weakness or loss of leg function. Sneezing, coughing, or bending usually intensify the pain.
CAUSES
Occurs when the outer ring becomes weak or torn and allows the inner portion to slip out. This can happen with age.
