Male Infertility
It refers to a male's inability to cause pregnancy in a fertile female. In humans it accounts for 40-50% of infertility. It affects approximately 7% of all men. Male Infertility is commonly due to deficiencies in the semen, and semen quality is used as a surrogate measure of male fecundity.
- More than 90% of male infertility cases are due to low sperm counts, poor sperm quality, or both. The remaining cases of male infertilitycan be caused by a range of conditions including anatomical problems, hormonal imbalances, and genetic defects.
- In most cases, there are no obvious signs ofinfertility. Intercourse, erections and ejaculation will usually happen without difficulty. The quantity and appearance of the ejaculated semen generally appears normal to the naked eye. Medical tests are needed to find out if a man isinfertile
