Metastatic Cancer
When the cancer has spread to other parts of the body, it is called metastatic cancer. The liver, lungs, lymph nodes, and bones are common areas of spread ormetastasis. Even when cancer spreads to a new location, it is still named after the area of the body where it started.
SYMPTOMS
- Pain and fractures, when cancer has spread to the bone .
- Headache, seizures, or dizziness, when cancer has spread to the brain.
- Shortness of breath, when cancer has spread to the lung .
- Jaundice or swelling in the belly, when cancer has spread to the liver.
