Periodic limb movement disorder (plmd), previously known as nocturnal myoclonus, is a sleepdisorder where the patient moves limbs involuntarily during sleep, and has symptoms or problems related to the movement. ... SYMPTOMS
Periodic limb movement disorder symptoms. The most common symptoms noted by people with plmd are not leg movements but poor sleep and daytime sleepiness. Many people with plmd are unaware of their leg movements unless their bed partner tells them.
CAUSES
It is mostly unknown what causes plmd, but in many cases the patient also has other medical problems such as parkinson's disease or narcolepsy.
