Mycosis Fungoides
Mycosis fungoides, also known as alibert-bazin syndrome or granuloma fungoides, is the most common form of cutaneous t-cell lymphoma. It generally affects the skin, but may progress internally over time. Symptoms include rash, tumors, skin lesions, and itchy skin.
SYMPTOMS
Premycotic phase: a scaly, red rash in areas of the body that usually are not exposed to the sun, patch phase: thin, reddened, eczema -like rash, plaque phase: small raised bumps (papules) or hardened lesions on the skin, which may be reddened.
CAUSES
Mycosis fungoides is the most common form of a type of blood cancer called cutaneous t-cell lymphoma. Cutaneous T-cell lymphomas occur when certain white blood cells, called t cells, become cancerous; these cancers characteristically affect the skin, causing different types of skin lesions.
