Neonatal Bppwel Obstruction

SYMPTOMS

Cardinal signs of intestinal obstruction are the following :

  • History of maternal polyhydramnios.
  • Feeding intolerance.
  • Bilious emesis.
  • Delayed passage of meconium.
  • Failure to pass transitional stools.
  • Abdominal distention.

CAUSES

  • Gastroschisis-associated intestinal atresia.
  • Malrotation: associated with abdominal wall defects and congenital diaphragmatic hernia.
  • Tracheoesophageal fistula: associated with esophageal atresia.
