SYMPTOMS

Cardinal signs of intestinal obstruction are the following :

History of maternal polyhydramnios.
Feeding intolerance.
Bilious emesis.
Delayed passage of meconium.
Failure to pass transitional stools.
Abdominal distention.

CAUSES

Gastroschisis-associated intestinal atresia.
Malrotation: associated with abdominal wall defects and congenital diaphragmatic hernia.
Tracheoesophageal fistula: associated with esophageal atresia.
