Nose Bleed
A nosebleed, also known as epistaxis, is the common occurrence of bleeding from the nose. It is usually noticed when the blood drains out through the nostrils. There are two types: anterior (the most common), and posterior (less common, more likely to require medical attention).
SYMPTOMS
Infection, trauma, including self-induced by nose picking (this is a common cause of nosebleeds in children), allergic and non-allergic rhinitis, hypertension (high blood pressure), use of blood thinning medications, alcohol abuse.
CAUSES
Taking antihistamines and decongestants for allergies, colds, or sinus problems can also dry out the nasal membranes and cause nosebleeds. Frequent nose blowing is another cause of nosebleeds,excessive heat, foreign object stuck in the nose.
