A disease that is caused by a fungus of the genus candida (c. albicans), occurs especially in infants and children, and is marked by white patches in the oral cavity; broadly : candidiasis.

SYMPTOMS

Oral thrush causes white lesions on the tongue or inner cheeks.
Symptoms vary and may include itching and rash at the affected site.

CAUSES

Oral thrush occurs when a yeast infection develops on the inside of your mouth and on your tongue. This condition is also known as oropharyngeal candidiasis. The candida albicans fungus causesoral thrush. A small amount of this fungus normally lives in your mouth without causing harm.
