Primary peritoneal cancer (ppc) is a rare cancer of the peritoneum. It is very similar to the most common type of ovarian cancer called epithelial cancer. This is because the lining of the abdomen and the surface of the ovary come from the same tissue when we develop from embryos in the womb.

SYMPTOMS

Symptoms resemble those of ovarian cancer. Many of these symptoms aredue to buildup of fluid (ascites) in the abdomen. Peritoneal cancer symptoms may include: abdominal discomfort or pain from gas, indigestion, pressure, swelling,bloating, or cramps

CAUSES

Ovarian epithelial cancer, fallopian tube cancer, andprimary peritoneal cancer are diseases in which malignant (cancer) cells form in the tissue covering the ovary or lining the fallopian tube or peritoneum. ...
