Papillary Carcinoma
Papillary carcinoma (ptc) is the most common form of well-differentiated thyroid cancer, and the most common form of thyroid cancer to result from exposure to radiation. Papillary Carcinoma appears as an irregular solid or cystic mass or nodule in a normal thyroid parenchyma.
SYMPTOMS
Pain in the neck, enlarged lymph nodes, lump, or swelling, thyroid nodules
CAUSES
Thyroid cells become cancerous when genetic abnormalities cause them to mutate. These abnormalities are often caused by environmental factors (such as radiation exposure). In fewer cases,gene abnormalities may be inherited. But often, it's not understood why they occur.
