Pelvic Cancer
Cervical cancer is a type of cancer that occurs in the cells of the cervix — the lower part of the uterus that connects to the vagina. Various strains of the human papillomavirus (hpv), a sexually transmitted infection, play a role in causing most cervical cancer.
SYMPTOMS
Pain in the pelvis, pain during sexual intercourse, abnormal menstruation, heavy menstruation, irregular menstruation, or spotting, abnormal vaginal bleeding or abnormal vaginal discharge, fatigue, nausea, or weight loss
CAUSES
Causes and risk factors for cervical cancer include human papillomavirus (hpv) infection, having many sexual partners, smoking, taking birth control pills, and engaging in early sexual contact.
