Percutaneous Balloon Valvoplasty
Balloon valvuloplasty, also called percutaneous balloon valvuloplasty, is a surgical procedure used to open a narrowed heart valve. The procedure is sometimes referred to as balloon enlargement of a narrowed heart valve.
SYMPTOMS
Moderate to severe stenosis. High Blood pressurein the lungs (pulmonary hypertension).
CAUSES
Balloon valvuloplasty (also called valvulotomy or valvotomy) is a procedure that widens a heart valve that is narrowed. The cause of this narrowing in the aortic valve is aortic valve stenosis.
