Prostrate Disorders
The prostate is a gland in men. It helps make semen, the fluid that contains sperm. The prostate surrounds the tube that carries urine away from the bladder and out of the body. A young man's prostate is about the size of a walnut. It slowly grows larger with age.
SYMPTOMS
- A weak or slow urinary stream.
- A feeling of incomplete bladder emptying.
- Difficulty starting urination.
- Frequent urination.
- Urgency to urinate.
- Getting up frequently at night to urinate.
- A urinary stream that starts and stops.
- Straining to urinate.
- Continued dribbling of urine
- Returning to urinate again minutes after finishing
CAUSES
Prostate problems are common in men after age 50. Common problems are benign prostatic hyperplasia (bph), acute and chronic bacterial prostatitis, and chronic prostatitis (non-bacterial).
