Rattlesnake Bite
Rattlesnake BiteThe bite of a snake; also : the condition resulting from the bite of a venomous snake and characterized by variable symptoms (as pain and swelling at the puncture site, blurred vision, difficulty in breathing, or internal bleeding)
SYMPTOMS
- Numbness in the face or limbs.
- Lightheadedness.
- Weakness.
- Nausea or vomiting.
- Sweating.
- Salivating.
- Blurred vision.
- Difficulty breathing.
CAUSES
A lack of edema or erythema in the area of the bite after eight hours indicates a lack of envenomation for most rattlesnake bites. Common symptoms include swelling, severe pain, tingling, weakness, anxiety, nausea and vomiting, hemorrhaging, perspiration, and eventually heart failure.
