The rectum is the last several inches of the large intestine. It starts at the end of the final segment of your colon and ends when it reaches the short, narrow passage leading to the anus.

SYMPTOMS

Pain areas: in the abdomen
Gastrointestinal: blood in stool, change in bowel habits, constipation, narrow stools, or passing excessive amounts of gas
Whole body: anaemia or fatigue
Also common: abdominal discomfort or weight loss

CAUSES

If you've already had rectal cancer, colon cancer oradenomatous polyps, you have a greater risk ofcolorectal cancer in the future. Inflammatory Bowel disease. Chronic Inflammatory diseases of thecolon and rectum, such as ulcerative colitis and crohn's disease, increase your risk of colorectal cancer.
