Stage N2 Sleep
Normal sleep is divided into non–rapid eye movement (nrem) and rapid eye movement (rem) sleep. Nrem sleep is further divided into progressively deeperstages of sleep: stage n1, stage n2, and stage n3 (deep or delta-wave sleep). ... Waking usually transitions into light nrem sleep.
Following symptoms were assessed in the questionnaire: excessive fatigue or sleepiness, falling asleep during the day, waking up tired, inattention (trouble paying attention due to sleepiness), snoring, stopped breathing during sleep,insomnia and leg jerks during sleep.
A high percentage of the stage n2 sleep is generally a result of frequent arousalscaused by sleep disorders, like sleep apnea, periodic movement of sleep, or snoring. Other causes of sleep disruption, including environmental disturbances, may also lead to increased amount of stage n2 sleep.
