Rheumatoid arthritis: an autoimmune disease characterized by chronic inflammation of joints. Rheumatoid disease can also involve inflammation of tissues in other areas of the body, such as the lungs, heart, and eyes.

SYMPTOMS

Pain areas: in the joints, back, or muscles, joints: stiffness, swelling, tenderness, or weakness,whole body: fatigue, anaemia, or malaise,skin: lumps or redness,hand: bump on the finger or swelling,also common: flare, dry mouth, physical deformity, or sensation of pins and needles.

CAUSES

Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune condition, which means it's caused by the immune system attacking healthy body tissue. However, it's not yet known what triggers this. Your immune system normally makes antibodies that attack bacteria and viruses, helping to fight infection.
