Sudanophilic Leukodystrophy
Ald is one of a group of genetic disorders called the leukodystrophies that cause damage to the myelin sheath of the nerve fibers in the brain. The myelin sheath is a fatty covering which acts as an electrical insulator and there are three types of ald.
SYMPTOMS
- Muscle spasms
- Seizures
- Trouble swallowing
- Loss of hearing
- Trouble with language comprehension
- Impaired vision
- Hyperactivity
- Paralysis
- Coma
- Deterioration of fine motor control
- Crossed eyes
CAUSES
Ald is caused by mutations in abcd1, a gene located on the x chromosome that codes for ald, a peroxisomal membrane transporter protein. And also due to severe constipation, blood impurity, less consumption of water, lack of exercise, unhealthy life style
