Thyroid Deficiency
Thyroid deficiency, which has few or no symptoms, is defined as abnormally high tsh with normal thyroid hormone levels. Experts disagree on whether and when it requires treatment. The symptoms of hypothyroidism are variable and sometimes hard to pin down.
SYMPTOMS
Fatigue, weakness, weight gain or increased difficulty losing weight, coarse, dry hair, dry, rough pale skin, hair loss, cold intolerance (you can't tolerate cold temperatures like those around you, muscle cramps and frequent muscle aches.
CAUSES
Autoimmune disease. People who develop a particular inflammatory disorder known as hashimoto's thyroiditis have the most common cause ofhypothyroidism. Autoimmune Disorders occur when your immune system produces antibodies that attack your own tissues. Sometimes this process involves your thyroid gland.
