Tricuspid Stenosis(Mitral Stenosis)
Mitral stenosis is a valvular heart disease characterized by the narrowing of the orifice of the mitral valve of the heart.
SYMPTOMS
- Shortness of breath.
- Fatigue or weakness.
- A pounding heart (palpitations).
- Coughing up blood.
- An irregular heart rhythm (because of heart failure from stenosis).
CAUSES
Rheumatic fever. A complication of strep throat, rheumatic fever can damage the mitral valve. Rheumatic Fever is the most common cause of mitral valve stenosis.
