Urethral Sticture
A urethral stricture is a narrowing of the urethra caused by injury, instrumentation, infection and certain non-infectious forms of urethritis.
SYMPTOMS
- Weak urine flow or reduction in the volume of urine.
- Sudden, frequent urges to urinate.
- A feeling of incomplete bladder emptying after urination.
- Frequent starting and stopping urinary stream.
- Pain or burning during urination.
- Inability to control urination (incontinence)
CAUSES
- Urethral stricture is much more common in men than in women. ...
- Congenital urethral strictures (present at birth) are also considered rare.
- Any inflammation of the urethra resulting from injury, trauma, previous surgery, or infection can cause urethral stricture.
