Urinary Tract Infection During Pregnancy
Urinary tract infection: an infection of the kidney, ureter, bladder, or urethra. Abbreviated uti. Not everyone with a uti has symptoms, but common symptoms include a frequent urge to urinate and pain or burning when urinating.
SYMPTOMS
Pain areas: in the bladder, groin, lower abdomen, or pelvis pain circumstances: can occur during urination or during sexual intercourse. Urinary: foul smelling urine, frequent urination, bladder spasm, cloudy urine, dark urine, persistent urge to urinate, sense of incomplete bladder emptying, or blood in urinewhole body: fatigue, fever, or malaise also common: cramping or vaginal irritation
CAUSES
The most common utis occur mainly in women and affect the bladder and urethra. Infection of the bladder (cystitis). This type of uti is usually caused by escherichia coli (e. coli), a type of bacteria commonly found in the gastrointestinal (gi) tract.
