Carcinomatious Meningitis
It is lso called as lepto meningeal carcinomatosis (lc) is a rare complication of cancer in which the disease spreads to the membranes (meninges) surrounding the brain and spinal cord. Lc occurs in approximately 5% of people with cancer and is usually terminal.
SYMPTOMS
Headaches (usually associated with nausea, vomiting, light-headedness), gait difficulties from weakness or ataxia, memory problems, incontinence, sensory abnormalities.
CAUSES
About lepto meningeal metastases. Cells from some types of cancer, such as breast cancer, lung cancer, or melanoma, can sometimes spread to your meninges, cerebrospinal fluid (csf), or both.
