Nephritic Disease

Kidney failure, also known as renal failure or renal insufficiency, is a medical condition of impairement of kidney function in which the kidneys fail to adequately filter metabolic wastes from the blood.

SYMPTOMS

  • A reduced amount of urine 
  • Swelling of your legs, ankles, and feet from retention of fluids caused by the failure of your kidneys to eliminate water waste
  • Unexplained shortness of breath
  • Excessive drowsiness or fatigue
  • Persistent nausea
  • Confusion
  • Pain or pressure in your chest
  • Seizures
  • Coma

CAUSES

Kidney disease is most often caused by other conditions that put a strain on the kidneys. High blood pressure (hypertension) and diabetes are the most common causes of kidney disease. The evidence indicates that high blood pressure causes just over a quarter of all cases of kidney failure.
