Nephritic Disease
Kidney failure, also known as renal failure or renal insufficiency, is a medical condition of impairement of kidney function in which the kidneys fail to adequately filter metabolic wastes from the blood.
SYMPTOMS
- A reduced amount of urine
- Swelling of your legs, ankles, and feet from retention of fluids caused by the failure of your kidneys to eliminate water waste
- Unexplained shortness of breath
- Excessive drowsiness or fatigue
- Persistent nausea
- Confusion
- Pain or pressure in your chest
- Seizures
- Coma
CAUSES
Kidney disease is most often caused by other conditions that put a strain on the kidneys. High blood pressure (hypertension) and diabetes are the most common causes of kidney disease. The evidence indicates that high blood pressure causes just over a quarter of all cases of kidney failure.
