Paroxysmal Supraventricular Tachycardia
Paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (psvt) is a type of supraventricular tachycardia. Often people have no symptoms. Otherwise symptoms may include palpitations, feeling lightheaded, sweating, shortness of breath, and chest pain. Episodes start and end suddenly.
SYMPTOMS
- Pain areas: in the chest
 - Whole body: fainting, fatigue, light-headedness, or sweating
 - Also common: fast heart rate or shortness of breath
 
CAUSES
Some examples include atrial tachycardia, multifocal atrial tachycardia, atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, and wolff-parkinson-white (wpw) syndrome. As well, there are numerous abnormalities in the av node that cause rapid heartbeats and palpitations.
