Wax In The Ear

A natural wax-like substance secreted by special glands in the skin on the outer part of the ear canal. It repels water, and traps material such as dust and sand particles. Usually a small amount of wax accumulates, and then dries up and falls out of the ear canal carrying with it unwanted particles.

SYMPTOMS

  • Earache.
  • Feeling of fullness in the affected ear.
  • Ringing or noises in the ear (tinnitus)
  • Decreased hearing in the affected ear.
  • Dizziness.
  • Cough.

CAUSES

Some people are prone to produce too much earwax. Still, excess wax doesn't automatically lead to blockage. In fact, the most common cause of earwaxblockage is at-home removal. Using cotton swabs, bobby pins, or other objects in your ear canal can also push wax deeper, creating a blockage.
