Sore Nipples

The pigmented projection on the surface of the chest in the male and the breast in the female. In the mature female, ducts that conduct milk from the mammary glands to the surface of the breast exit through thenipple. The surrounding flat area of pigmentation is the areola.

SYMPTOMS

Hormonal changes. Nipple Pain or discomfort is common at certain times in a woman's monthly cycle, triggered by the changes in levels of oestrogen and progesterone. Tenderness in The breasts and nipples is most commonly felt prior to your period. This is usually normal and nothing to worry about.

CAUSES

One of the most common (and easily cured) causes of nipple pain is wearing tight or ill-fitting undergarments and clothing. Butnipple pain is also a problem for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. In addition, sore nipples can be caused by infection, certain kinds of breast cancer and other conditions.
